UK Court: Nigerian Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Former Partner

A Nigerian man in the UK, Adedapo Adegbola, has pleaded guilty to murdering his ex-partner, British clinical psychologist Steph Irons, in her Nottingham home. Evidence including CCTV and blood-stained footwear tied him to the fatal October 2025 stabbing. Adegbola’s sentencing is scheduled for February 5, offering Irons’ family a measure of closure. 




Nigerian Arrested in India Over Alleged Drug Manufacturing Operation

Indian police arrested a 36-year-old Nigerian in New Delhi linked to an illegal drug production facility. Authorities found significant quantities of chemicals and processed substances believed to be used for MDMA and heroin synthesis. The suspect was reportedly living in India without valid immigration documents, and investigators are probing connections to a wider international narcotics network. 




Greece Moves to Let Diaspora Voters Elect Their Own MPs


Greece plans electoral reforms to enable citizens abroad to directly elect MPs from a dedicated global constituency, replacing the current nationwide party list system for expatriate representation. The proposal also expands postal voting rights and aims to strengthen political inclusion for Greeks overseas. Passage requires parliamentary approval ahead of the 2027 general election. 


Greek Foreign Minister Heads to New York for UN Talks and Diaspora Outreach


Greece’s Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis is travelling to New York for UN Security Council engagements and talks with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. UK Court Jails Man Six Years Over Multiple Assaults on Train Passengers

A 27-year-old man, Daniel Odubanjo, received a six-year prison sentence in the UK for a series of assaults on train passengers in Essex. The conviction covers incidents from November 2024 involving two female victims, with transport police intervening to arrest him. The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order alongside the sentence.
