About Us
Quality news, where you want it, when you want it.
DiasporaNews.ng is a non-profit global media and intelligence platform dedicated to delivering news, insight, and opportunity for the Nigerian, African, and global diaspora.
Diaspora News operates as the media and public information platform of the Diaspora Intelligence Programme (DIP), a research and development initiative of The Dream Foundation, founded ESV. Jermaine Sanwo-Olu (MCIPR, NIPR).
Our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and diaspora-relevant insights on the forces shaping the lives, opportunities, and futures of people living outside their ancestral homelands, while generating opportunities for people in the diaspora and at home.
What We Do
Diaspora News monitors and reports on the most important developments affecting diaspora communities worldwide. We do not publish ordinary news. We deliver Diaspora-Relevant Intelligence.
Our coverage focuses on five core areas:
Migration and Mobility
Visa changes, citizenship rules, student flows, work permits, and return-migration trends that shape where and how diaspora communities live.
Remittances and Diaspora Investment
Money flows, real estate, entrepreneurship, fintech, and cross-border investment that drive wealth creation and development across Africa and the Global South.
Africa and the Return Economy
Opportunities in Lagos and other African cities for returnees, investors, professionals, and entrepreneurs seeking to reconnect, relocate, or build across borders.
Global Black and Ethnic Diaspora Power
The growing influence of Black, African, Caribbean, Afro-Brazilian, and other diaspora communities in business, culture, technology, and global affairs.
Diaspora Stars and Leadership
Profiles of individuals and organisations in the diaspora making a significant impact across industries, countries, and communities.
Why Diaspora News Exists
Diaspora communities now represent one of the most powerful economic and cultural forces in the world, yet the information that affects them is often scattered, misunderstood, or ignored by mainstream media.
Diaspora News exists to ensure that people living between countries have access to the intelligence they need to make informed decisions about migration, investment, careers, education, and engagement with their home countries.
By translating complex global developments into clear, relevant insight, we help diaspora communities, governments, and institutions better understand one another and work together more effectively.
