Indian authorities have arrested a Nigerian national in connection with an alleged large-scale drug manufacturing operation uncovered in the southern part of New Delhi. The suspect, identified only as Emmanuel, is said to be 36 years old.
Police sources disclosed that the arrest followed intelligence-led patrols that intercepted the suspect while he was allegedly attempting to distribute processed narcotics. A subsequent search reportedly led officers to a residential building where an illegal drug production facility was operating.
Investigators said the facility contained substantial quantities of chemical substances and materials believed to be used in the production of psychotropic drugs, including MDMA and heroin. Both processed drugs and raw chemical components were allegedly recovered from the premises.
According to law enforcement officials, the scale of materials found suggests the suspect was directly involved in drug synthesis rather than simple distribution. Authorities described the operation as sophisticated, indicating a shift from drug trafficking to local manufacturing.
The suspect is also believed to have been residing in India without valid immigration documents. He has since been taken into custody, while investigators continue to probe possible links to a wider international drug network.
An official case has been filed under India’s narcotics laws, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the operation and identify other individuals who may be involved.
