Speaking during an engagement with Abiriba leaders worldwide, Otti highlighted improved security and infrastructure, urging diaspora professionals and investors to support economic development, job creation, and industrial revival across Abia State.


Edo Governor Appoints Osarodion Osagie as SSA on Diaspora Matters

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has appointed Osarodion Osagie as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters. The appointment takes effect January 26, 2026. Osagie is expected to strengthen Edo’s engagement with its diaspora community, mobilise skills and investments, and serve as a liaison between the state government and Edo indigenes abroad.





Turkish Officials Dismiss Tinubu Stumble as Media Distraction – Dabiri-Erewa


Turkish officials have dismissed reports surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s brief stumble during an official visit as insignificant. Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the incident attracted little attention in Turkey and was exaggerated by the media, stressing that diplomatic engagements and bilateral discussions remained the focus of the visit.





Nigerian Community in UK Raises Funds to Repatriate Slain Student’s Body 


The Nigerian community in Norwich, United Kingdom, has launched a fundraising campaign to repatriate the body of Uchenna Okirie, a Nigerian student stabbed to death in November 2025. Donations are being raised to cover funeral and transportation costs. A suspect has been charged as investigations into the killing continue.
