Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Osarodion Osagie as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters, signalling a renewed push to strengthen the state’s relationship with its citizens living abroad.
The appointment takes effect from January 26, 2026, and places Osagie in charge of coordinating policies and programmes aimed at engaging the Edo diaspora more strategically.
Osagie, a native of Benin City, is widely travelled and recognised for his involvement in youth leadership and international networking, particularly in initiatives focused on development-oriented partnerships.
The state government views his global exposure and experience in building cross-border connections as assets that can be leveraged to attract investment, expertise, and innovation to Edo State.
Speaking on his appointment, Osagie described the role as a responsibility rooted in service, noting that it reflects trust and confidence from the state leadership.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in him through diligent and result-driven service.
Osagie said his focus will be on building strong bridges between Edo State and its diaspora community, harnessing their skills, resources, and ideas to support economic growth and sustainable development across the state.
