Authorities in South Africa have apprehended a woman in connection with the killing of a 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, in Pretoria West earlier this month.

Police also addressed a disturbing video circulating on social media, which appears to show a person being assaulted inside a vehicle. Officials strongly condemned the sharing of the footage, describing it as graphic and urging members of the public to refrain from reposting it.

The arrested suspect is scheduled to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 16, 2026, where she is expected to face charges including murder and hijacking.

Meanwhile, law enforcement authorities have launched a manhunt for a second suspect believed to have participated in the attack. Members of the public with relevant information have been urged to report to the nearest police station or contact CrimeStop to assist ongoing investigations.

The Gauteng Provincial Police Command confirmed the arrest after investigators linked the suspect to a violent carjacking that resulted in the driver’s death while he was working. Satlat, who operated on the Bolt platform, was reportedly attacked shortly after picking up passengers who had requested a ride on February 11, 2026.

Preliminary findings indicate that the victim may have been lured into the trip by two individuals, a man and a woman, who allegedly overpowered him during the journey and seized control of his vehicle. His body, along with the stolen car, was later discovered in Atteridgeville on the same day.
