Sanwo-Olu, Egyptian Ambassador Strengthen Lagos–Egypt Relations Through Strategic Courtesy Visit

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted Egypt’s Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Mohammed Fouad, at Lagos House in Ikeja on November 17, 2025. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Lagos and Egypt across infrastructure, transportation, tourism, and creative industries.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted Lagos’ ongoing investments in transport systems, including rail expansion, water transport, and road development, emphasizing the potential for Egypt’s expertise in urban mobility to support Lagos’ future projects.

Ambassador Fouad praised Lagos’ economic leadership and expressed Egypt’s readiness to partner in aviation, renewable energy, technology, education, and blue economy initiatives.

Both parties affirmed the importance of fostering diplomatic, cultural, and economic links to promote mutual growth. Governor Sanwo-Olu welcomed partnerships that align with Lagos’ vision for sustainable development and encouraged actionable collaborations.
