Motherland 2025, a major cultural and economic platform celebrating Nigerian creativity and diaspora connections, kicked off its international roadshow on Thursday at the Africon Conference in Atlanta.
The launch marks the start of a multi-city campaign aimed at rallying Nigerians and other Africans ahead of the inaugural Motherland Festival, scheduled for Abuja and Lagos from December 15–21, 2025.
The roadshow will visit Houston, New York, Washington DC, and London, featuring panel sessions, workshops, and networking events focused on investment, innovation, and cultural exchange.
At the Atlanta event, co-founders Chidinma Nwankwo and Sandra Oboh led discussions with Nigerian professionals and creatives, joined by Afrobeats star D’banj, who shared insights on the global success of African music.
Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism & Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, is expected to deliver a keynote urging the diaspora to strengthen links with Nigeria.
She will also attend a private dinner hosted by the Motherland team, alongside influencers such as Jackie Asamoah and travel videographer Tayo Aina.
Nwankwo described the initiative as “a bridge between Nigeria and its global citizens,” noting that Motherland aims to create sustainable partnerships that boost culture and commerce both locally and abroad.
Launched as a celebration of Nigerian music, film, fashion, food, and enterprise, the December festival will also host structured forums to promote diaspora investments and cross-border collaborations.
