Libyan authorities have carried out the deportation of a group of Nigerian nationals who were found to be living in the country without legal status, as part of intensified measures to address irregular migration.
The operation was conducted through Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity.
Officials said the affected migrants were processed in accordance with established legal and humanitarian standards before being returned to their country of origin.
According to the ministry, the deportation forms part of a broader national policy aimed at regulating migration and reducing the movement of undocumented persons through Libyan territory.
The ministry further stated that ongoing enforcement actions are intended to strengthen border management and enhance internal security across the country.
Authorities added that similar deportation exercises will continue as the government pursues long-term solutions to curb illegal migration and maintain national stability.
