Lagos Will Remain Peaceful, Sanwo-Olu Assures Residents

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed that Lagos will remain peaceful throughout the Yuletide season and beyond, following fresh assurances from heads of security agencies operating across the state.

The governor gave the reassurance on Wednesday after presiding over the routine Security Council meeting at the State House, Marina, where he received operational briefings and updates on surveillance activities.
Sanwo-Olu said he was satisfied with the reports presented by security chiefs and noted that agencies had intensified monitoring across communities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents during the festive period.
He urged Lagosians to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security operatives, and promptly report suspicious activities, stressing that collective vigilance remained crucial to sustaining peace.

The governor added that the state government and its security partners were committed to ensuring a peaceful, safe and harmonious festive season for all residents and visitors..
“We have been fully briefed, and I can assure residents that Lagos will remain peaceful. Our security architecture is active, responsive and committed to ensuring that everyone feels safe, during the festivities and beyond,” he said.
“Our focus is to maintain stability across the state. We urge the public to support security personnel and help create an environment that reflects goodwill and unity throughout the season,” he added.
The meeting was attended by top security commanders including Brig.-Gen. A.O. Owolabi of the 9 Brigade, Group Capt. M.A. Imam of the Nigerian Air Force, Commodore P.P. Nimmyel of NNS Beecroft, Commissioner of Police Olohundare Moshood, the DSS representative A.B. Alade, and senior state officials such as the SSG, Chief of Staff and the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
