Indian authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals linked to a synthetic drug manufacturing operation uncovered in Gurugram, Haryana, following a months-long investigation by Kozhikode Town Police.
The suspects, Henry Onuchukwu, Ugochukwu John alias David, and Okolie Romanus . were tracked using mobile tower data after interrogations in an earlier drug case revealed their involvement in supplying narcotics to Kerala.
The investigation began in February when police in Kozhikode seized 778 grams of MDMA near the city’s railway station and arrested a Malappuram resident, K. Siraj.
His phone and bank records led investigators to a wider supply chain stretching across Delhi, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Acting on this intelligence, a team led by Inspector Jithesh of Kozhikode Town Police, with assistance from Haryana Police, raided an industrial estate in Gurugram. Officers discovered a makeshift “drug kitchen” containing 900 grams of cocaine, 2.3 kilograms of raw cocaine, 1.6 kilograms of sulfonamides, and 43 mobile phones, with the haul valued at around ₹1 crore.
Authorities confirmed that except for Romanus, the foreign suspects lacked valid visas or any legal documents to remain in India. They have been transported to Kerala and produced before a Vadakara court.
Police described the operation as a major breakthrough in disrupting interstate synthetic drug trafficking, adding that the dismantled network was supplying narcotics to South Indian markets.
