Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has launched the Phase 1 Report of the Lagos International Financial Centre (LIFC), marking a major step toward positioning Lagos as a globally competitive financial hub.

The launch took place at Lagos House, Marina, in collaboration with EnterpriseNGR and members of the Lagos International Financial Centre Council. The report outlines strategies to support economic growth, deepen markets, and foster innovation.
Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the support of EnterpriseNGR, the UK Government, and TheCityUK, noting that building a credible financial centre requires strong institutions, technical expertise, and trusted partnerships.
He explained that the project was intentionally designed to be institutional rather than personal, ensuring continuity beyond any single administration. According to him, the next phase will focus on execution and long-term reforms.

The Governor added that the initiative goes beyond Lagos, stressing that a functional and credible financial system would strengthen Nigeria’s economy today and secure its future.
