Ikorodu Residents Pledge to Expose Quack Health Facilities

Residents of Ikorodu have pledged to actively report unregistered and illegal health facilities operating within their communities to safeguard public health.

The commitment was made during a sensitisation campaign organised by the Lagos State Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) at the Ikorodu Council Secretariat.

Participants expressed concerns over quack clinics and maternity centres, calling for anonymity and protection for whistleblowers to prevent victimisation.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary of HEFAMAA, Dr. Abiola Idowu, assured residents that all reports are treated with strict confidentiality and that community cooperation is vital to enforcement efforts.

The agency reiterated that only facilities displaying the official HEFAMAA logo and QR code are authorised to operate, warning that defaulters would face sanctions.
