The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has organised a capacity-building workshop for Safeguarding and Child Protection Officers as part of efforts to strengthen child protection mechanisms across the State.

The workshop, held on February 4, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), brought together teachers, counsellors, and safeguarding officers from various schools and institutions.
In her welcome address, the Executive Secretary of DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, emphasised the importance of equipping officers with the skills needed to identify risks, respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, and apply child protection laws effectively.
Participants were taken through sessions on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), safeguarding policies, referral pathways, and evidence-based reporting by experts from CEWHIN, child protection specialists, and DSVA officials.

The agency reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to protecting children’s rights, stressing that trained officers remain critical to preventing abuse and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in schools and communities.
