The Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has called for strengthened collaboration between the State Government and Local Government Authorities to enhance teaching and learning in public schools.

Mr. Sanni made the call during courtesy visits to the Chairmen of Somolu and Bariga Local Government Areas, where he commended both councils for their continued support for public schools within their jurisdictions.
He emphasised that partnerships with local governments play a vital role in promoting quality education, particularly in areas such as sports development, academic competitions, and merit awards for outstanding students and teachers.
According to him, sustained synergy is essential for improving learning outcomes, upgrading infrastructure, and boosting student engagement across schools in Education District II.

Responding separately, the Chairman of Bariga Local Government, Mrs. Bukola Omope-Adedeji, and the Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Mr. Lateef Ashimi, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote academic excellence and youth development within their councils.
