Education District II has organised a Career Day Programme aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and motivation needed to make informed career decisions. The event, themed “Pathways to Purpose: Discovering and Exploring Careers, Shaping the Future,” was held at the Immaculate Heart Hall, Maryland.

The programme was coordinated through the District’s Guidance and Counselling Unit and attracted students from various secondary schools across the District. Seasoned professionals from diverse fields were on hand to share insights, career experiences and practical guidance with the students.
The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, represented by the Director of Guidance and Counselling, Mrs. Bolanle Adeniyi, stated that the initiative aligns with the District’s commitment to holistic education and student development.
He emphasised that early exposure to career pathways helps students align their interests, strengths and academic pursuits with future opportunities. He also reaffirmed the District’s resolve to promote mentorship, career counselling and purpose-driven learning.

Activities during the event included interactive lectures, counselling sessions and a creative display of professions by students dressed in various career outfits. The programme recorded the attendance of over 250 students, leaving participants inspired and better informed about their future possibilities.
