A European-based coalition of Nigerian diaspora leaders has urged citizens to trust President Bola Tinubu as the federal government ramps up efforts to secure the release of abducted students in Niger and Kebbi states.
In a statement issued on Monday, the group’s Global President, Prince Magboh, described the kidnappings as “deeply disturbing and unacceptable in any civilized society,” stressing the urgency of decisive action.
Magboh commended security agencies for their dedication, noting that their ongoing operations are crucial in ensuring the safe return of the children. He encouraged Nigerians to support these efforts rather than spreading panic or divisive narratives.
The coalition emphasized the importance of national unity during this period, warning that inflammatory statements or partisan debates could undermine the collective response to the crisis.
Prince Magboh expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that the president and security chiefs are working tirelessly to bring the students home safely. He also highlighted the administration’s commitment to improving security across vulnerable regions.
The diaspora group called on Nigerians living abroad to remain patient and continue supporting initiatives that promote peace, stability, and education for the nation’s youth.
Magboh also appealed to parents and communities to stay vigilant and report any information that could assist security agencies, reinforcing the collaborative effort needed to tackle the menace.
The coalition concluded by reaffirming its unwavering trust in the federal government, urging citizens to remain hopeful and united as efforts continue to rescue the kidnapped students and strengthen national security.
