The grand finale, which doubled as a Gala Night, was marked by glamour, celebration, and reflection on COWLSO’s 25 years of impactful service to women, families, and communities across Lagos State.

Highlighting the evening was the announcement of a ₦20 million cash prize to Mrs. Florence Obayomi-Davies, a staff member of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), presented by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

Other lucky winners included Mrs. Olusola Oduguwa, a retired Permanent Secretary and pensioner, who became the proud owner of a new home, and Ms. Thelma Abidemi Madume, a staff of Coker Aguda LCDA, who drove home a brand-new GAC pickup truck.

In addition, Mrs. Adekemi Folorunsho and Mrs. Ayisat Yebode each won return tickets to Ghana, while Mrs. Oluwatoyin Bolanle Falade received a return ticket to London.

In his closing remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended COWLSO for its unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, describing the milestone conference as both “a celebration of a legacy and a renewal of a movement.”

“Over the past few days, we have not only celebrated a legacy, we have renewed a movement,” the Governor said. “We have reflected on 25 years of purpose, passion, and progress. Together, we have envisioned the next generation of women who will carry this legacy forward.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu also paid glowing tribute to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON, who revived COWLSO during her tenure as First Lady of Lagos State, and lauded the present Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, for sustaining and expanding the vision.

“What began as a gathering of women with shared values has become a force that uplifts families, transforms communities, and shapes policy conversations across Nigeria,” the Governor noted.

He urged participants to take the lessons learned from the conference back to their communities, translating conversations into tangible actions through mentorship, compassion, and leadership.

The First Lady of Lagos State and COWLSO Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, expressed profound gratitude to God for the success of the silver jubilee edition, themed “25 Years of Visionary Legacy: Inspiring the Next Generation.”

She described the 25th anniversary as “a true celebration of women’s brilliance, resilience, and strength,” noting that participants had gained valuable insights to drive change in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
“Our interactions over the past three days have once again shown that when women come together with passion and focus, the results are always inspiring,” Dr. Sanwo-Olu said. “The raffle draw winners remind us that every woman’s dream is valid and achievable.”

She also commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her virtual goodwill message at the opening ceremony, and extended appreciation to the Conference Planning Committee led by Dr. (Mrs.) Olayemi Oke-Osanyitolu, as well as sponsors, partners, and the media for their support.

Reaffirming COWLSO’s mission to mentor and empower women, Dr. Sanwo-Olu urged delegates to embody the spirit of the Silver Jubilee by leading with service, compassion, and courage.

“Let us go forth as ambassadors of COWLSO’s Visionary Legacy, inspiring others and transforming our communities in ways that truly reflect the spirit of this Silver Jubilee,” she charged.

The 25th National Women’s Conference reaffirmed COWLSO’s enduring role as a catalyst for women’s empowerment and a vital partner in achieving the Greater Lagos Rising vision.
