Zenith Bank Plc has announced plans to expand its international footprint with the opening of a new branch in Manchester, United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening trade and investment flows between Africa and global markets
The bank disclosed that the Manchester office is set to commence operations this week, positioning itself as a strategic hub for businesses engaged in cross-border trade across the UK, Europe, and Africa.
According to the bank, the new branch will provide a range of financial services, including corporate banking, trade finance, and treasury solutions tailored to meet the needs of international clients operating within these regions.
The expansion forms part of the bank’s broader ambition to build a globally connected African banking institution capable of bridging financial and commercial gaps between continents.
Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adaora Umeoji, described the move as a deliberate step toward enhancing access to global opportunities for African businesses seeking to scale beyond domestic markets.
She highlighted Manchester’s reputation as a key commercial and industrial centre, noting that its economic significance makes it an ideal location for fostering stronger financial ties between the United Kingdom and Africa.
Umeoji added that the new branch would work in close coordination with the bank’s existing London operations, ensuring seamless support for clients navigating international markets and investment opportunities.
The development marks another milestone in Zenith Bank’s global expansion strategy, reinforcing its commitment to facilitating trade, driving economic collaboration, and supporting businesses operating across multiple regions.
