Youths in Diaspora (YID), a leading pan-African youth development organisation, is set to celebrate its 7th anniversary on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in Lagos. The milestone event will feature high-level discussions on youth empowerment, education access, and the role of the diaspora in nation building.

Themed “Youth, Education and Nation Building: Pathway to Economic Transformation,” the anniversary will bring together government officials, education leaders, private sector partners, and youth advocates. Attendees will reflect on YID’s seven years of initiatives and outline strategic plans to further support education and youth employment across Nigeria.

Highlights of the event include a keynote address by Lagos State’s Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, followed by a panel discussion on education and youth-led development. The organisation will also unveil its “Decade of Deployment (2026–2035)” strategy, aimed at deploying thousands of teachers, expanding education access, and enhancing youth skills over the next ten years.

Founder Arthur C. Amadi emphasized that YID seeks to position the African diaspora as a key partner in sustainable development, extending its impact beyond remittances to policy engagement, investment, and national growth initiatives.

The anniversary is expected to host over 100 stakeholders and is designed as a platform for actionable policy dialogue, partnership building, and measurable outcomes in youth and education development. Operating across Nigeria, Canada, and the United States, YID continues to mobilize resources and expertise to strengthen education systems, promote leadership, and empower young Africans.
