A 37-year-old Nigerian man, Ademola Oke, has been found dead at his place of work in the United Kingdom, marking yet another tragic loss within the Nigerian diaspora this month.
Details surrounding the incident indicate that Oke had gone about his normal routine on the day of his death, showing no visible signs of illness or distress. He reportedly maintained regular communication with his wife throughout the day, suggesting that nothing appeared out of the ordinary prior to the incident.
According to information shared by a family acquaintance, Oke was later discovered unresponsive at his workplace by a colleague who had arrived to begin a shift. The discovery was said to have occurred hours after he was last heard from.
Emergency responders were immediately contacted following the discovery.
However, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving family members and colleagues in shock.
The sudden nature of his passing has had a devastating impact on his immediate family. Oke is survived by his wife and two young children, who are now faced with the emotional and financial burden of his unexpected death.
In response to the tragedy, a fundraising campaign has been launched to assist the family with funeral arrangements and to provide ongoing support for the children. Organisers of the appeal have urged members of the public to contribute, noting the importance of easing the financial strain during this difficult period.
The appeal has gained some traction, with contributions steadily coming in, though the target amount has yet to be fully reached. Supporters have also been encouraged to share the campaign widely to increase visibility.
Oke’s death is the latest in a series of similar incidents involving Nigerians in the United Kingdom this April, raising growing concern within diaspora communities about the frequency of such sudden losses.
