Italian authorities have arrested five African migrants, including two Nigerian nationals, in connection with the alleged kidnapping and gang rape of a Colombian tourist in Rome.

According to investigators, the 32-year-old woman was reportedly approached in the Italian capital by a man who offered to sell her cannabis. Police believe she was subsequently taken away from a public area and transported to an abandoned building on the outskirts of the city.

Authorities allege that the woman was held against her will for several days, during which she was subjected to repeated sexual abuse, drugged, and threatened. She eventually managed to escape and was later discovered by a passerby, who contacted emergency services.

Prosecutors have reportedly filed aggravated gang rape charges against the suspects, citing the victim’s vulnerable condition. The five men remain in custody while investigations continue.

Italian police said they are also searching for additional individuals believed to have played roles in the incident, including the person accused of luring the tourist away and the driver who allegedly transported her to the location.

During the operation, officers discovered dozens of undocumented migrants living inside the abandoned structure. Several of them have since been placed in detention as immigration authorities begin deportation procedures.

The case has drawn significant attention in Italy, with authorities pledging to pursue all individuals connected to the alleged crime.
