Stakeholders at the Nigeria Foreign Direct Investment Training Programme holding at the Moller Institute, University of Cambridge, have expressed optimism about the successful establishment of the Lagos International Financial Centre (LIFC).

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chairman of the LIFC Council, reiterated that President Bola Tinubu is fully supportive of the initiative and is awaiting a comprehensive policy memorandum.

Co-Chairman of the Council, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, commended the unity among public and private sector leaders, stating that the calibre of stakeholders involved signals strong momentum behind the project.

Participants at the high-level training include federal lawmakers, regulatory heads, and financial sector leaders, reflecting broad-based institutional support for the initiative.

The training, organised by TheCityUK and funded by the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, is expected to refine strategic frameworks that will position Nigeria competitively in global finance.
