Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to transforming the state into a premier destination for international investors. The Governor made this known on Monday after welcoming Walid Farghal, the Director General of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress in Dubai. The high-level meeting focused on strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening the state’s economic ties with global financial markets.

During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu led a productive discussion centered on attracting sustainable investment to Lagos and positioning the state to benefit more effectively from global capital flows. The Governor emphasized that his administration is actively seeking to bridge the gap between local opportunities and international investors. By aligning with global platforms like the AIM Congress, Lagos seeks to enhance its visibility as a secure and profitable investment hub.

The Governor highlighted the massive potential within the state’s technology, infrastructure, and creative sectors, describing them as the engines of future growth. He noted that Lagos remains a leader in the African tech ecosystem and is making significant strides in modernizing infrastructure to support a 21st-century economy. These sectors, according to the Governor, offer untapped opportunities for high-impact investments that can drive job creation and development.

A primary theme of the meeting was the state's ongoing efforts to ensure a conducive environment for business operations. Governor Sanwo-Olu assured the visiting delegation that the Lagos State Government is dedicated to implementing policies that guarantee ease of doing business and protect investor interests. He stressed that creating a stable and transparent regulatory framework remains a top priority for his administration to attract long-term partnerships.

Expressing his optimism for the future, the Governor noted that it is always encouraging to engage with global partners who recognize the energy and promise inherent in Lagos. He remarked that the shared vision between the state and international stakeholders like the AIM Congress is a testament to the state’s rising profile. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to exploring collaborative projects that will benefit the people of Lagos and the global investment community.
