Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on local and international investors to seize the opportunities emerging from Lagos’ rapidly improving business environment. He made the call on Monday while commissioning the new TY Logistics Park, a modern trade and warehousing complex located in Alaro City.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s leading investment destination, referencing the latest Subnational Ease of Doing Business report, where the state scored 85.6% to top the national ranking by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC). According to him, the new milestone underscores Lagos’ commitment to reducing bottlenecks and supporting private-sector growth.
The TY Logistics Park, built on a 29,000-square-metre site, features advanced warehouse management systems and is designed to strengthen the movement of goods within Nigeria and across West Africa. The facility was jointly unveiled by Governor Sanwo-Olu and Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, who described the project as a major contribution to national development.
Sanwo-Olu praised TY Holdings for what he called a bold demonstration of investor confidence and noted that the project further cements Alaro City’s emergence as one of the region’s most attractive industrial destinations. He added that the development aligns with Lagos’ broader strategy to modernise logistics infrastructure, deepen foreign investment, and accelerate economic growth.
The governor also highlighted major infrastructural upgrades underway in the Lekki industrial corridor, including a planned road that will link Lekki Port, Dangote Refinery, and Alaro City—an intervention expected to ease pressure on the Lekki–Epe Expressway. He reiterated that Lagos is currently constructing what will be the largest food logistics hub in West Africa, reinforcing the state’s long-term plan to support manufacturing, trade, and supply chain operations.
Governor Kefas, in his remarks, applauded the collaboration between Taraba and Lagos, especially ongoing initiatives that will enable agricultural produce from Taraba to reach Lagos’ processing and consumer markets more efficiently. He described the new facility as a deliberate step toward bridging regional gaps and strengthening intra-national commerce.
Chairman of TY Logistics Park, Theophilus Danjuma Jr., noted that the project originated four years ago after Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd.) approved the investment with a vision to deliver a world-class logistics hub. He added that the facility will provide contract logistics, digital warehouse operations, and end-to-end supply chain solutions for industries ranging from electronics and pharmaceuticals to auto parts and fashion.
