This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, noting that the rewards were presented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the 2025 Mr. Governor’s Luncheon held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja.

The event brought together top-performing staff drawn from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas across Lagos State, in celebration of dedication and outstanding performance.

According to Akosile, five of the 99 awardees in the senior category emerged winners of brand new cars through a raffle draw, while the remaining 94 received N1 million each. In the junior category, five outstanding officers were awarded N5 million each, while 73 others received N500,000 each.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also announced the promotion of the Director-General of the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, to the rank of Permanent Secretary, and presented N10 million to staff of the office for projecting Lagos on the national and global stage.

“The recognition of these outstanding officers is a deliberate effort to reward excellence and encourage consistency in service delivery. Public servants must identify their strengths, refine them continuously, and remain committed to high standards,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“The achievements recorded across the state are the result of collective effort. Public service remains central to effective governance and sustainable development, and excellence must be sustained over time,” the governor added.

Earlier, the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, said the 177 awardees emerged from a rigorous and transparent selection process out of 312 nominations submitted by MDAs, adding that the luncheon marked the grand finale of the 2025 Public Service Week activities in the state.
