Sanwo-Olu Receives U.S.–Nigeria Council Chairman

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has received the Chairman of the U.S.–Nigeria Council for Food Security, Trade, and Investment, Ambassador Terence P. McCulley, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina, reaffirming the State’s openness to strategic international partnerships.

During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu said discussions focused on practical areas of cooperation that can strengthen food security and expand trade opportunities for Lagos State. He emphasised that the engagement was driven by a shared interest in solutions that deliver measurable outcomes for residents.

According to the Governor, food security remains a critical issue with direct implications for economic stability, job creation, and social wellbeing. He noted that Lagos, as Nigeria’s commercial hub, must continue to explore partnerships that enhance agricultural value chains, improve food access, and support sustainable trade systems.

Governor Sanwo-Olu stressed that Lagos is deliberate about collaborations that align with its development priorities, adding that partnerships must be impactful, realistic, and capable of delivering long-term value to the people of the State



He assured the U.S.–Nigeria Council of Lagos State’s readiness to engage with credible stakeholders whose initiatives support inclusive growth, innovation, and economic resilience, while reinforcing Lagos’ position as a gateway for global investment into Nigeria.
