Sanwo-Olu Pledges Stronger Lagos–Korea Cultural Collaboration at K-Heritage Festival 2025

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to deepen cultural diplomacy and promote international partnerships that celebrate Lagos as a global creative hub.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, at the K-Heritage Festival 2025 on Victoria Island, Sanwo-Olu commended the Embassy of the Republic of Korea for hosting the vibrant event in Lagos.
He described the festival which showcased K-pop, traditional Korean dance, hanbok fashion, and Korean cuisine as a vital platform linking Nigeria and Korea through shared values of innovation, creativity, and resilience.
Sanwo-Olu pledged Lagos’s continued support for cultural initiatives that enrich the state’s tourism landscape, create opportunities for young people, and strengthen bilateral cooperation. He expressed optimism that the K-Heritage Festival would become a fixture on Lagos’s cultural calendar, enhancing appreciation for Korean heritage while positioning Lagos as a bridge for global cultural exchange.
The governor congratulated the Korean Embassy on the festival’s success and assured that Lagos remains open to collaborations fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections.
