The Lagos State Law Reform Commission and the Parastatals Monitoring Office have agreed to deepen institutional collaboration aimed at strengthening governance and modernising the legal framework guiding government institutions in the state.

The partnership was formalised during a courtesy visit by officials of the Law Reform Commission to the Parastatals Monitoring Office in Alausa, Ikeja. The engagement created a platform for both agencies to discuss strategies for improving service delivery and ensuring that laws governing government institutions remain current and effective.

Welcoming the visiting delegation, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring, Mr. Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, emphasised the importance of collaboration among government institutions. He noted that working in isolation often slows progress and stressed that synergy between agencies is necessary to deliver efficient and citizen-focused services.

The Permanent Secretary of the Parastatals Monitoring Office, Dr. Olugbenga Aina, also described the engagement as the beginning of a strategic partnership that would strengthen public institutions. He explained that effective governance depends on strong institutions supported by responsive legal frameworks that reflect modern administrative realities.

In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Law Reform Commission, Mrs. Oluyemisi Ogunlola, reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to reviewing and updating Lagos State laws to ensure they remain clear, relevant and practical. She expressed confidence that sustained collaboration with the PMO would enhance regulatory effectiveness and improve governance outcomes across the state.
