Olubadan, Diaspora Group Mourn with Governor Makinde Over Brother’s Passing

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has extended heartfelt condolences to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, following the loss of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Solomon Ayoade, the monarch described the death as a sad and inevitable reality for all mortals. He praised the late Sunday Makinde as a humble and accomplished individual who left an indelible mark on those who knew him.

Adding to the wave of condolences, the Omituntun Initiative in Diaspora (OID) and the Eledan family expressed their sorrow over the unfortunate loss. Moses Eledan, convener of OID, described the deceased as a noble man full of life, discipline, and selflessness.

“Our beloved brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, was the epitome of kinship—full of life and deeply loved by all. His life, measured by deeds rather than words, was a testament to his remarkable character. He leaves behind a legacy of honor, peace, and integrity,” the statement read.

The OID and the Eledan family extended prayers to Governor Makinde, his family, and the people of Oyo State, urging everyone to keep them in their thoughts during this difficult period.

This loss has drawn widespread sympathy, underscoring the unity and compassion shared among Nigerians at home and abroad in moments of grief.
