Two Nigerians Arrested in Thailand After Cocaine Discovery

Thai immigration authorities have arrested two Nigerian men in Pattaya after discovering six grammes of cocaine concealed in a cooker hood inside their apartment.
The suspects, aged 25 and 29, were taken into custody following a search of their residence in Chon Buri Province last Friday. According to a report by The Thaiger, immigration officers initially targeted the apartment after receiving information that one of the men was allegedly living in Thailand illegally.
During a search that lasted more than 20 minutes, officers discovered five small packages containing cocaine, wrapped in black tape and hidden inside the cooker hood.
Immigration checks revealed that one of the men had allegedly overstayed or otherwise lacked lawful immigration status, while the other had entered Thailand on a tourist visa.
Preliminary urine tests also detected traces of drugs in one suspect, while the other tested negative.
The men reportedly told investigators that they obtained the cocaine from an acquaintance in their neighbourhood and had yet to pay for it. They claimed the substance was intended for personal consumption and denied any plans to sell it.
Both suspects were subsequently transferred to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings as authorities continued investigating the source of the drugs and possible links to a wider supply network.
