Okpebholo Unveils Edo Diaspora Agenda, Invites Global Investment

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has unveiled a forward-looking diaspora engagement strategy aimed at deepening inclusion, attracting global investment, and revitalising the state's cultural heritage.

In a statement released on Monday in Abuja by Dr. Loretta Ogboro-Okor, Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency, the governor pledged that every Edo indigene, regardless of location, would be carried along in the administration’s vision for a prosperous future.

Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his commitment to unity and inclusiveness, stating, “No Edo person will be left behind.” He extended a direct invitation to the international community and the Edo Diaspora to actively participate in rebuilding and transforming the state.

“Edo is open for investment,” the governor declared, highlighting the state’s efforts to stimulate economic development and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Beyond economics, Okpebholo emphasized the importance of cultural pride. He stressed that Edo’s rich history and identity should be told by its people “boldly and with pride,” as part of a broader effort to counter outdated stereotypes and reinforce cultural dignity on the global stage.

The initiative, which forms part of the strategic objectives of the Edo State Diaspora Agency, is expected to foster stronger ties between the government and Edo citizens abroad, while positioning the state as a destination for both heritage tourism and responsible investment.
