A 41-year-old Nigerian man, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison by the Aylesbury Crown Court in the United Kingdom for sexually assaulting the underage daughter of his partner.

According to a statement from Thames Valley Police, Nosakhare committed the offences after meeting the victim’s mother through an online dating platform. The assaults, which occurred in the Thames Valley area, involved both penetrative and non-penetrative sexual activity.

He was found guilty of two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl and three counts of non-penetrative sexual activity, following a trial earlier this year. The court delivered its verdict on July 29, 2025.

In addition to the prison sentence, Nosakhare will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. A restraining order was also issued against him, preventing future contact with the victim.

Detective Constable Bryn Smith of Thames Valley Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit commended the courage of the young victim throughout the trial. “I want to commend the victim for her bravery during both the investigation and the court proceedings. I hope the conviction and sentencing provide her with some sense of justice,” Smith said.

He further encouraged victims of sexual abuse to come forward, assuring them of police support and commitment to justice.

The case highlights the continued efforts of UK authorities to clamp down on child abuse and uphold child protection laws, particularly when trust is breached within domestic settings.

This incident comes just weeks after another Nigerian, Adewale Kudabo, was sentenced to 12 months in the UK for sexually assaulting a female patient while working as a healthcare assistant at York Hospital.

Thames Valley Police reiterated its dedication to supporting victims and prosecuting offenders involved in sexual offences.
