A 28-year-old Nigerian woman, Esther Egbuhama, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service over her alleged involvement in operating a brothel in the Ashanti Region.

The suspect was apprehended during a police operation carried out by officers from the Manso Nkwanta Police Command.

The raid took place on April 19, 2026, following intelligence reports of suspected illegal activities at a lodge in the area. Authorities identified the location as Mama Nice Lodge, situated in Manso Watreso. The facility had reportedly been under surveillance before the operation was executed.

Police officials stated that the raid was part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities and maintain public order within the region. The operation was based on credible intelligence gathered by law enforcement

Egbuhama was arrested at the scene and subsequently taken into custody. She was later transferred to the Manso Nkwanta Police Station, where she is currently assisting with investigations.

However, several other individuals believed to be connected to the alleged operation managed to escape before the arrival of security personnel. Police say efforts are underway to track them down.

Authorities have reiterated that operating a brothel is a criminal offence under Ghanaian law. They emphasized their commitment to enforcing existing laws and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.

Investigations into the case are ongoing, with police working to uncover the full extent of the alleged operation and identify other individuals involved.
