A 26-year-old Nigerian-American, Olaolukitan Abel, has been arrested after allegedly carrying out a series of deadly shootings across parts of DeKalb County and Brookhaven in the early hours of Monday.

Authorities said the attacks left two women dead and a man critically injured, with incidents occurring at different locations over several hours. Police believe the suspect moved between areas, targeting victims at random.

The first shooting reportedly occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near a fast-food outlet, where a woman was fatally shot. Hours later, another woman, identified as Lauren Bullis, was attacked while walking her dog and later died from multiple injuries.

In a separate incident, a 49-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds outside a shopping complex. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital and remains in critical condition.

Law enforcement agencies linked the attacks through shared intelligence and surveillance tools, including license plate tracking that helped identify the suspect’s vehicle.

Police officials described the violence as random, noting that none of the victims appeared to have any connection to the suspect. They warned that the situation could have escalated further if the suspect had not been swiftly identified.

Abel was later apprehended in another county and is currently in custody. He faces multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and illegal possession of a firearm.

Investigators also disclosed that the suspect has a prior criminal record and holds dual nationality, having previously lived in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States.
