Some Nigerians based in the United Kingdom have praised the administration of President Bola Tinubu for ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s public procurement system, describing the changes as impactful and long overdue.
The commendation came from members of the Nigeria Enterprise Community in the UK, who said recent developments have improved transparency and made procurement processes more accessible to both local and international stakeholders.
In a statement issued on Friday, the group noted that the reforms are creating opportunities for diaspora investors to participate in government contracts without relying on informal networks or personal connections.
They also highlighted Nigeria’s improved global standing in procurement practices, stating that the progress is boosting investor confidence and encouraging foreign participation in the country’s economy.
The group further acknowledged the government’s efforts in strengthening institutions and appointing capable leaders to key agencies, adding that the reforms are already delivering measurable outcomes.
They pledged continued support for policies that promote accountability, transparency, and inclusive economic growth.
The diaspora body also congratulated the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Adebowale Adedokun, on his recent international recognition, describing it as a positive reflection of Nigeria’s reform efforts.
