Nigerian-born physician and pharmaceutical executive, Henrietta Ukwu, has earned global recognition following her inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who, a respected platform that highlights individuals with significant professional achievements and leadership impact.

Ukwu currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer at Novavax, where she leads global regulatory strategies for the development and approval of medical products across multiple markets.

In her role, she works closely with top regulatory agencies worldwide, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, European Medicines Agency, and other key health authorities, ensuring compliance and timely product approvals.



Reflecting on the recognition, Ukwu described the honour as a testament to years of dedication and collaboration, noting that her achievements are the result of collective efforts with teams she has worked with throughout her career.


With a professional journey spanning more than three decades, she has played a critical role in advancing pharmaceutical innovations and regulatory processes on a global scale.

She was notably instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to secure emergency approvals for the Novavax vaccine, which contributed to global vaccination efforts during a critical period.

Before joining Novavax, Ukwu held senior leadership roles at Pfizer and Merck & Co., where she contributed to major drug development and regulatory milestones, including treatments for infectious diseases.
