A group of Ebonyi indigenes living abroad has declared support for the second-term ambition of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State.

The endorsement was announced by the Ebonyi Diaspora Forum following its annual meeting held in London, where members also pledged to mobilise support for the governor among Ebonyians across different parts of the world.

In a statement jointly signed by the forum’s leadership, the group congratulated Nwifuru on securing the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election, describing his emergence as a sign of confidence in his administration.

The forum said the governor’s performance in office and implementation of his development agenda influenced its decision to support his re-election bid.

According to the group, its members are spread across Europe, the United States, Asia, South America, and the United Kingdom, and consist mainly of professionals and entrepreneurs committed to the growth and development of Ebonyi State.

The association also vowed to intensify mobilisation efforts among Ebonyians in the diaspora to ensure widespread support for Nwifuru during the 2027 polls.
