The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has restated its dedication to the welfare, protection, and engagement of Nigerians living overseas. The commission emphasized its mission to ensure that citizens abroad are supported and effectively represented in matters concerning their wellbeing.
Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, OON, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NIDCOM, made this known during a meeting with Prince Magbo, President of the Nigerian Community in Turkey. She praised his leadership in championing the interests of Nigerians residing in Turkey, noting that such advocacy strengthens the ties between the diaspora and the home country.
Highlighting the commission’s ongoing initiatives, Dr. Dabiri-Erewa said NIDCOM remains committed to promoting active collaboration with diaspora communities. These efforts, she explained, are aimed at creating structured channels for feedback, engagement, and support to Nigerians living abroad.
Prince Magbo, through his aide Acho Righteous, expressed appreciation for NIDCOM’s efforts and acknowledged the positive impact of its programs on Nigerians in Turkey. He also highlighted the role of the diaspora in contributing to Nigeria’s global image and national development.
He further commended the policies of the Tinubu administration, noting that Nigerians in Turkey value the government’s inclusive approach. Prince Magbo reaffirmed the community’s commitment to patriotism and their role as responsible ambassadors representing Nigeria internationally.
The meeting reflects NIDCOM’s ongoing strategy to strengthen diaspora relations, protect citizens abroad, and leverage their expertise and contributions for national growth. Both parties pledged to continue working closely to address the concerns and needs of Nigerians living overseas.
