NiDCOM Celebrates Nigerian Scientist Ayodeji Amobonye on Stanford Global Top 2% Ranking

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has congratulated Dr. Ayodeji Amobonye Emmanuel, a Nigerian scientist, for earning recognition among the world’s top two per cent of scientists in a ranking by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier.
In a statement signed by NiDCOM spokesperson Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Chairman/CEO Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa commended Dr. Amobonye for his groundbreaking contributions to biotechnology research and urged him to continue driving scientific innovation and discovery.
Amobonye, who obtained his Ph.D. at the Durban University of Technology, South Africa, has served as both a lecturer and researcher. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania. His recognition was based on the impact of his research publications across multiple scientific fields.
Dabiri-Erewa described his inclusion in the prestigious global ranking as a testament to his commitment, academic excellence, and contribution to global knowledge production, particularly in biotechnology a field she said is critical to addressing future challenges.
Dr. Amobonye earned his first degree from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and a Master’s from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He also previously worked with Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
NiDCOM hailed him as a beacon of excellence and a proud ambassador of Nigeria in the global scientific community, stressing that his achievement would inspire young scientists across the country.
