Morocco Records MAD 92.73 Billion in Diaspora Remittances as of September 2025

Official data indicate that remittances from Moroccans living abroad reached MAD 92.73 billion ($9.96 billion) by the end of September 2025. This represents a 1.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when remittances stood at MAD 91.72 billion ($9.85 billion).
Figures for the full year 2024 showed total remittances amounting to $11.7 billion, a 2.1% rise from 2023. The government has consistently recognized diaspora contributions as a key component of the country’s economic structure.
In addition to remittances, the latest exchange office report noted that Morocco’s trade deficit increased by 17.7%, exceeding MAD 259 billion ($27.83 billion), attributed to higher import volumes alongside export activity.

The inflows have supported household consumption and contributed to macroeconomic resilience despite challenges including natural disasters and global economic fluctuations
