President John Dramani Mahama has begun an official working visit to the United Kingdom, where he is expected to hold a series of high-level meetings focused on strengthening economic cooperation, attracting investment, and engaging with Ghanaians living abroad.

The Ghanaian leader arrived in London on Sunday and was welcomed by senior British and Ghanaian officials, including representatives of the UK government and Ghana's diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom.

According to government officials, the visit is designed to reinforce the long-standing partnership between Ghana and the UK while promoting new opportunities for trade, investment, and economic collaboration. The trip will also provide an opportunity for the President to interact directly with members of the Ghanaian diaspora and discuss their role in national development.

Among the key engagements on the President's itinerary are meetings with senior members of the British government, including a scheduled audience with King Charles III and discussions with Keir Starmer.

President Mahama is also expected to participate in a town hall session organized by the Ghana High Commission in London, where members of the Ghanaian community will have the opportunity to interact with him and share perspectives on issues affecting citizens abroad.

A major highlight of the visit will be the Ghana–UK Investment Summit, where business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors from both countries are expected to explore partnerships and investment opportunities across various sectors of Ghana's economy.

In addition, the President is scheduled to visit the London Stock Exchange, where he will take part in a ceremonial event marking the opening of trading activities. The visit is intended to showcase Ghana's commitment to engaging international financial markets and attracting foreign investment.

The Ghanaian leader will also address policy experts and stakeholders at Chatham House and deliver a keynote speech during the 12th Africa Debate in London, where discussions will focus on Africa's economic future and global partnerships.

The working trip is expected to run until June 3, with several diplomatic and economic engagements planned throughout the visit.
