Fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy convened for a BrownBag session focused on leadership, governance and civic responsibility. The interactive forum brought young leaders into direct engagement with policymakers shaping Lagos State’s development agenda.

Special Adviser on Enterprise Geographic Information Systems and Urban Development, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, challenged participants to embrace leadership as a present responsibility rather than a future title. He urged them to actively shape systems and institutions that drive sustainable progress

Executive Secretary of the Academy, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, reiterated the institution’s commitment to practical leadership training. She explained that the BrownBag Series is structured to expose Fellows to real-world governance insights and promote critical thinking.

The session was attended by senior officials including BLDR. Florence Gbaye of the Lagos State Building Control Agency and Oluwasegun Williams, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Urban Development, who highlighted cross-sector collaboration.

Fellow Opelopejesu Owolabi delivered the vote of thanks, describing the session as enlightening and reaffirming the Fellows’ resolve to apply the lessons learned in shaping responsible leadership practices.
