LG Chairman Swears in SLG, Supervisors and Special Advisers in Ibeju-Lekki

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has sworn in Adewale Fasali Adebanjo as the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), alongside newly appointed Supervisors and Special Advisers. The ceremony marked a significant step toward strengthening the executive structure of the council and advancing grassroots governance in the area.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the conference hall of the Local Government Secretariat in Igando-Oloja shortly after the successful screening and confirmation of the appointees by the legislative arm of the council. The event brought together council officials, political stakeholders and members of the local community who gathered to witness the inauguration of the new executive team.
In his address, Chairman Olowa commended the legislative council for its diligence and collaborative spirit throughout the screening process. He noted that the appointment of competent individuals into key administrative roles reflects the council’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to residents at the grassroots level.
Olowa emphasised that Supervisors and Special Advisers play a crucial role in the local government’s executive framework by supporting policy implementation and ensuring the effective execution of development programmes. He therefore urged the newly appointed officials to demonstrate dedication, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The new appointees subsequently took their oaths of office and allegiance, pledging to serve the people of Ibeju-Lekki with honesty and commitment. The council leadership expressed confidence that the new team will contribute meaningfully to the development agenda of the local government and strengthen service delivery across the community.
