The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has reinforced its commitment to economic inclusion with the launch of a business refinancing programme targeted at Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The programme, titled “Refinancing of Businesses Owned by PWDs,” was held at LASODA’s premises and is aimed at strengthening existing businesses operated by persons living with disabilities across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the General Manager, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts, Dr. Kasunmu Taofikat Olatunbosun, urged beneficiaries to utilise the support responsibly, stressing the government’s dedication to sustainable empowerment.

She explained that beneficiaries were thoroughly screened to ensure transparency and impact, adding that the intervention focuses on rebuilding and scaling viable businesses rather than starting new ventures.

A total of 80 PWDs benefitted from the scheme, with beneficiaries commending the initiative and calling for continuous inclusion of persons with disabilities in all government empowerment programmes.
