The Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency (LASIAMA) has intensified its statewide renewal drive with major renovation and reconstruction works ongoing across 13 Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) offices. The intervention aims to modernise public service infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency.

During an inspection tour of project sites in Igbogbo, Ikorodu and Owode in Kosofe, Head of Special Projects Unit, Builder Kazeem Ogunlana, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strict supervision and quality delivery. He described the transformation at Igbogbo as particularly significant, noting the replacement of an old portacabin with a purpose-built office structure.
Ogunlana disclosed that long-standing infrastructural challenges, including water supply issues, have been permanently addressed through the provision of borehole facilities. He added that improved workspaces are boosting staff morale and productivity.
The renewal programme covers offices at Akilo, Oko-Oba, Agege, Liasu, Iponri, Cele, Ibeju-Lekki, Olowu, Victoria Island, Mile 2, PWD, Igbogbo, Owode and the VIS headquarters at Ojodu. Projects are structured as four-month contracts scheduled for completion between April and May.

LASIAMA noted that about 90 percent of workers engaged are locally sourced, supporting grassroots employment. The agency reiterated that modern infrastructure remains central to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s agenda of efficient and people-centred public service delivery.
