The Lagos State Government has partnered with the Ford Foundation to conduct a door-to-door sensitisation campaign against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Mushin.

The initiative was implemented through the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area.
According to the agency, the campaign engaged residents in homes, markets, schools, religious centres, and traditional institutions to promote awareness and prevention of SGBV.
The outreach focused on educating communities on the forms, dangers, and long-term consequences of abuse while encouraging early reporting and survivor-centred response mechanisms.

DSVA said the initiative strengthens community trust in formal reporting systems and reflects the government’s commitment to building a safer, informed, and empowered society.
