LASERC Board Members Assume Office

The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) has announced the formal resumption of duty by its newly appointed Board Members following their confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The development follows the dissolution of the Commission’s previous Board in December 2025, in line with statutory provisions, and marks the completion of the reconstitution process..
The Lagos State Government stated that the move underscores its commitment to strengthening governance, accountability, and institutional effectiveness in the electricity sector.
The newly constituted Board is mandated to provide strategic leadership and regulatory oversight for electricity generation, distribution, licensing, market operations, and consumer protection, in line with the Lagos State Electricity Law 2024 and the state’s energy transition agenda.

Members of the Board include Mr. Alexander Akinwunmi Ogunbiyi as Chairman; Mrs. Temitope George as Chief Executive Officer; Engr. Adekunle Olabode Olopade; Mr. Olakunle Olaoluwa Falola; and Mr. Bello Wasiu Oladimeji, whose combined expertise is expected to strengthen investor confidence and enhance service delivery.
