LASCON Matriculates 119 Students, Emphasises Excellence and Professionalism

The Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando, has matriculated 119 newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session, marking its fourth set intake.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule, represented by Permanent Secretary Mr. Adeniran Kasali, described the students’ admission as merit-based and highly competitive.
Kasali encouraged the students to embrace technological advancement, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in line with 21st-century demands. He also highlighted the state government’s ongoing investments in tertiary education and healthcare.
Provost Dr. Ayodeji Ogunmuyiwa urged the students to uphold integrity, discipline, and compassion, noting that nursing remains a noble and life-saving profession requiring resilience and dedication.

The ceremony concluded with goodwill messages from stakeholders including JAMB and professional nursing bodies, as the students formally took the matriculation oath, officially beginning their journey into the nursing profession.
