The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has announced a temporary disruption in water supply to several parts of the Lagos metropolis to facilitate critical repair works at the Adiyan I Water Treatment Plant.

Affected areas include Ikeja, Magodo, Oregun, Ketu, Ojota, Maryland, Ogudu, Gbagada, Shomolu, Agege, and parts of Lagos Island. The disruption is to enable the repair of a leakage on the ND1600mm Adiyan raw water pipeline at the Akute Intake Station.
In a statement signed by the Managing Director of LWC, Engr. Temitope Mukhtaar, the Corporation explained that the leakage has been affecting the ongoing Adiyan Phase II construction by compromising ground stability and posing safety risks to heavy equipment.
As part of the repair process, the Adiyan I Water Treatment Plant will be temporarily shut down to ensure the safe execution of construction activities. The Corporation assured residents that efforts are being intensified to complete the work promptly.

Engr. Mukhtaar appealed for public understanding and patience, assuring customers that water supply would be restored as soon as the repair and replacement works are concluded.
